Checking in – day 45

45 days without a drink. Not gonna lie, weekends are still hard. But I'm sleeping better and my hands aren't shaking anymore. Taking it one day at a time.

45 days is legit man. weekends were hard for me too. what i did was plan something every saturday morning that i couldn't do hungover. made me think twice on friday night.

Dean K.OP2 days ago

that's smart. might start doing that. been thinking about joining a saturday morning running group.

do it! even if you hate running, you'll love how you feel saturday afternoon knowing you showed up for yourself.

running group is a great idea. gets you moving and around people who are doing healthy stuff. go for it.

Day 45! That's amazing, Dean. The weekends are tough – I totally get that. For me what helped was being really intentional about Saturday and Sunday plans. Even just a coffee shop and a book was enough to break the pattern. You've got this.

coffee shop and a book sounds perfect tbh. might steal that idea rosa!

Well done, Dean. The sleep improvements you are noticing are consistent with what we observe clinically – alcohol disrupts REM sleep architecture, so even moderate use can significantly degrade sleep quality. The fact that your sleep is improving at day 45 suggests your neurochemistry is recalibrating. Regarding weekends, the challenge is often environmental and social. Building alternative routines, as others have suggested, is one of the most effective strategies.

that makes sense. didn't know alcohol messed with rem sleep like that. explains a lot.
